I am Tyra Barnes, an emerging artist based in Atlanta, Georgia, with a focus on contemporary exploration of the African American experience through ceramic sculpture. artistic practice includes functional pottery, portraiture, and chainmail sculpted from terracotta. Currently, With these elements I am exploring matriarchal and familial connections within the black community and delving into how beauty shapes identity and black femininity.
